El filme Las vegas, rodado casi íntegramente en Villa Gesell y que recibió el apoyo de la Municipalidad, fue elegido para ir al prestigioso Festival Internacional de Cannes 2019
Tras abrir el BAFICI 2018, la película participará esta vez de una nueva edición del Festival de Cannes que se llevará a cabo del 14 al 19 de mayo.
Bajo la dirección de Juan Villegas, Las Vegas trata de una comedia romántica ambientada durante un verano en la soñada Gesell. La añoranza de sus mejores recuerdos de la infancia y adolescencia en Villa Gesell provocó en Juan Villegas la necesidad de escribir una historia que tiene como escenario la ciudad y que genera en muchos ese «querer volver». Villegas volvió al edificio “Las Vegas”, lugar de alojamiento de sus personajes y monumento a sus emociones.
La película es una muestra de la importancia que tiene seguir apostando a la producción local y al cine independiente.

Las vegas, entirely filmed in Villa Gesell and supported by the Municipality, was selected to attend the Cannes Film Festival 2019.
